Batik, soft sculpture, weaving. Students learn how to use dyes, wax resist and other fiber art techniques.

Animal Studies - Paint

(ages 9 and up)

 

Students spend a day learning sketching from life techniques, a day at the zoo drawing the animals and the rest of the camp in studio creating paintings from their references.

For those more interested in 3D expression, these students learn to translate their zoo trip drawings into ceramic pieces.

Younger students will learn the fundamentals of drawing cartoon figures and faces in this camp that also teaches the basics of classic figure proportions.

CARTOONING

A nice follow up to ‘Drawing Goofy’ or as a stand alone camp;  campers will envision their own superheroes and draw the comic book cover to launch their creations!

The kids get ‘graphic’ in this class where they will design items like skate board decks, posters and tee-shirts. Apprentices take their ideas from the sketch pad to the finished product, looking at lettering, layering, use of color and pattern.

Ages 12 +

A great second half to Design Shop or as a stand-alone class. The print shop will be busy producing art using our press and screen print equipment. Mono-prints, lino-cuts, screen-print and more.

CARTOONING AND COMICS

 

Can you tell a story with pictures?  There’s more to it than just knowing how to draw.  This class looks at classic panel storytelling techniques used in comic strips and cartoons.
