CLASSES
Spot 5 Art Studio is committed to providing quality art instruction at a reasonable price.  We offer a variety of classes for adults of all skill levels (beginners welcome) in a wide array of visual art subjects, including painting and drawing, ceramics, and photography (both digital and film).  Classes are usually informal and class sizes are small to allow for individualized instruction.
Painting & Drawing
Spot 5 offers two types of painting and drawing class.  Studio Classes feature ongoing instruction tailored to the individual student's interests and level of skill.  Because teaching occurs at the easel, beginners and more advanced students alike can work side by side.  These classes are ideal for the student who wishes to enjoy the benefits of ongoing instruction while being part of an arts community.  Topic Classes (or Workshops) have specific beginning and end dates and generally have a specific focus.  Class offerings change regularly.
Ceramics & Pottery
Create hand pieces or learn to throw.  Our ceramics studio features three nice pottery wheels and all the imagination you can handle.  Classes are relaxed.  Beginners are welcome.  And more experienced students can arrange open studio times for independent work.
Photography
Spot 5 is the right spot for classes in photography in Louisville.  Whether you are interested in exploring photography as art, or whether you simply want to learn to use your point and shoot camera better, Spot 5 has a class that is right for you.  Our instructors are experienced professional photographers ready to help you expand your photography skills in small classes that emphasize personal attention.  Classes in digital and film photography as well as digital video.  Plus, we are the only studio in the area with a publicly available darkroom.
Kids & Teens Programs
The youth program at Spot 5 is one of the best private art education programs in the area.  Our classes teach the fundamentals of art and design, allow students to explore a wide variety of materials and techniques, and provide an exposure to art history.  The fine arts curriculum is divided into 3 eight week sessions and one six week session that roughly track the JCPS school year, however your child may join at any time.  Summer camps on specific topics round out the calendar.  Portfolio development is stressed for those who plan on moving on to competitive primary or secondary visual arts programs.
Etc.
Spot 5 is always looking for interesting and unique class offerings.  Such diverse class topics as beading, print making, and calligraphy may appear on the class roster throughout the year.  Regularly check the website, subscribe to the newsletter or call to keep up to date with the latest.
