The painting and drawing department offers a wide variety of instruction, classes and workshops in multiple media including, charcoal, acrylic, oil, pastels, colored pencil and watercolor.
Open Studio hours are provided for students who wish to work independently.

Spot 5's Painting Studio has 10 well-lighted easels and offers personal storage space for student supplies and works in progress.

BLAST CLASSES are one day workshops on a variety of topics. They offer an opportunity to try a particular art form, focus on a particular topic or to experiment with something new without the commitment of an ongoing class. They are great for beginners. They are reasonably priced. They are informal. They are a blast - !

Spot 5's Studio Painting and Drawing Classes are open enrollment classes where students can work in a variety of media - new students can join at any time. Instruction is tailored to the individual student's interests and level of skill. Because teaching occurs at the easel, beginners and more advanced students alike can work side by side. Studio classes are ideal for those who wish to enjoy the benefits of ongoing instruction while being part of an artistic community.
